five out of 5 (5/5)

The Triumph Daytona 675 has put Hinckley firm dorsum on the shortlist of many Uk sports motorcycle riders, who previously rated the 600 and 650 Daytona models as being OK, merely no real alternative to a Japanese four cylinder 600cc sportbikes. Silky, compact handling, allied to kicking-donkey engine power and a howling exhaust note, make the Triumph Daytona 675 a real winner on the road, or track.

Watch Triumph's Daytona 675 take on Honda's CBR600RR, Yamaha'south R6, Suzuki's new GSX-R600 K8 and Kawasaki's ZX-6R.

v out of 5 (5/5)

The Triumph Daytona 675'due south narrow chassis, featuring frame spars set up atop of the motor, rather than along the sides of the cylinders, gives you lot the impression yous could be riding a grey import 400cc class motorcycle. USD forks and a house monoshock go on you focused on the delightful business of going fast aboard the 675, which is very easy to practice. In a give-and-take, it is accomplished.

Adjacent upward: Reliability

5 out of 5 (5/5)

The Triumph Daytona 675's three cylinder engine is a masterpiece of compact simplicity and features a stacked gearbox, shut ratio gears and loftier compression ratio of 12.6:one – all of which adds up to giving the Triumph Daytona 675 a claimed 123bhp of throaty fun. The well-nigh impressive thing about the motorcycle is its broad spread of ability and fantabulous fuelling organization – a previous failing on some Hinckley sportbikes.

Next upward: Value

4 out of 5 (four/5)

The build quality is excellent on the Triumph Daytona 675 and the swish gilded and grey paint schemes seem to have gone down well with Britain bikers, seeking an alternative to more garish colours.

Next up: Equipment

5 out of five (v/5)

Given the equipment on the Triumph Daytona 675, and the fashion it performs on road and track, you accept to say this motorcycle offers superlative class value.

Equipment

four out of 5 (four/5)

There was a factory race exhaust and matching engine re-map kit available for the Triumph when new then watch out for these options on second paw models. The swish instrument cluster make the motorcycle experience a cut higher up some other 600 sportsbikes. A pillion perch is fitted, albeit a bit precarious, but one characteristic the Triumph Daytona 675 lacks is a slipper clutch.

5 out of 5 Great intro to sports biking

12 September 2020

Year: 2006

This was my commencement bike after passing my exam, so I am not basing my review on a wealth of riding or ownership experience. What the bike may lack in terms of safety features and modern electronic wizardry, for me it more than than makes up for in terms of bully handling, practiced fuelling about town and at 123 bhp more than than enough grunt for me. Had it on track a couple of times and once again for my level of riding information technology does everything I wait a sports bicycle should, and at this level of power information technology is exhilarating without being scary.

Ride quality & brakes five out of v

Plenty of adjustment available in the suspension and then no issues hither on route or on track. I exercise a lot of cycling, so the riding position causes no issues, however I am 6'1' so afterward a couple of hours with knees in leathers I do have to do a bit of stretching. Once you lot go information technology on track it comes into its ain.

Engine five out of 5

As per every comment it has smashing torque for a 600 and a neat soundtrack. For me the 123bhp is enough and can't even cover what +200bhp feels like.

Reliability & build quality 5 out of 5

Had the cycle two and a half years and I have had no issues, other than investing in a trickle charger as the battery is small and pays the price for this.

Value vs rivals five out of five

At £3k used it is a lot of bike and servicing this far has been every bit expected.

Equipment 1 out of 5

It doesn't really take any 'features' similar many bikes of its era. I take added Oxford heated grips and a Quadlock stem mountain. Tyre wise I fitted Dunlop Sportsmart three ahead of a rail day which seemed to the trick and give plenty of confidence, however I only ride in the summer when information technology's dry.

Ownership experience: Charlie'southward Motorcycle in Bradford. Keen lad and acme price.

5 out of 5 Best all-round sports 600

24 September 2011 by carpel21

Truly fantabulous engine with 80% of max torque available from 3k rpm. Perfect for very fast road riding and great on tight technical tracks. Tin pull a couple bike lengths from the apex but will give them dorsum on longer straights. A real fighters bike on track with super quick steering and narrow, tall chassis and then restriction deep, turn hard and cutting upwards the within on the exit to really take reward of the motor. Needs aftermarket steering damper for real hard riders or frequent trackdays as information technology tin can get a fleck flighty. Forks and brakes are excellent, rear shock is a bit stiff for most. Reliability was keen for me. 20k miles and not a unmarried problem but many have the exbv valve constantly seize though information technology'southward an easy habitation fix. Solve completely with a full exhaust system. Reg/Rec can fail on 06-08 models as well. Servicing is a little more expensive than Japanese competitors but no-where near that of Ducati. Stop is proficient with average paint but Triumph use crap fixings like screws and header studs which go rusty Suzuki fast. I honey the simplicity of the bodywork equally yous can remove the fairings and tailpiece with less than twenty bolts. I think the later R6'southward take 14 just for the tailpiece! Overall the D675 is the best sports 600 for the road. The inline 4 simply can't compete with the torque and mid-range of the triple motor and the fast steering flickable chassis arrive great fun on technical tracks, simply it lacks the acme-stop for faster open circuits imo. I may well buy the 2013 model if it reaches 120rwhp!

I may be new to the large bike world and I only got an hour on this affair but f**male monarch hell is it adept. The engine (especially when combined with the Arrow exhaust) sounds similar thunder and feels just as fast. the forepart seemed a chip twitchy coming out of corners merely that may just be where i couldnt suit the suspension (it was my mates bike). I loved this bike and in the laps i got through i cruel in dearest with it, the throttle is damn well nearly perfect and the power is and so well counterbalanced that i could fly through corners. Overall = The perfect 600 supersports

I got a 2009 675 for my first bike (2008 shape, gold calipers, updated decals) and I absolutely beloved it. Has so much more grapheme than those common looking Jap 600s. Was originally gonna get a gixxer 600 or a cbr600rr, simply and so happy Ive got a Daytona at present. E'er become a reaction when I tell other bikers what I've got. The engine and exhaust note is dissimilar anything you're ever gonna hear. When I told people I'one thousand starting on a middleweight sports bike I got the usual comments ("you're gonna kill yourself, blah, apathetic"), only considering the engine has plenty of torque, you lot don't take to thrash it hard (like the jap bikes). Can be ridden comfortably fast and feels much slimmer between your legs than a 4 cylinder wheel. Absolutely love information technology to bits!

take just swapped over from my kawasaki zx6r G series 1998, to a daytona 675 2007 and admittedly love it, the breaks are superb and the sound and choice upwardly are top notch! im not a tall bloke, im 5.7 but can however stand up with the balls of my feet on the basis and if need be i can just shift the bike over abit and stand with the 1 foot apartment. wouldn't modify the gear up every bit its vivid on the turnings, its handling is great for throwing her most without feeling like the bike wants to pull out on you. 5 out of 5 Best bicycle I take owned

13 July 2009 by DaphneDaytona

Triumph have distilled the essence of motorcycling in this machine and the nucleus is the bully triple engine. If y'all are thinking about information technology, purchase one at present before they alter it. I have owned thirty+ bike of all varities over the past 25yrs. If I had to design my own engine, this 675 would be it. Downsides? Well its a sports 600, so don't expect too much in the way of comfort merely it is meliorate on the movement than when sat stationary. I've ridden less comfy bikes that take been designed for touring. Brakes are solid if not astounding. Handling is top drawer, it goes where you remember before you blink. Pause is good at soaking up the bumps but does get a bit out of shape if yous push too hard on uneven B roads. Finnish is about as skillful every bit most mod throw away machinary. Looks a worth a drool if not quite Ducati slavvering territory. Have had my Daytona 2 years and take yet to examination ride anything more than fun inc New Bract, Ducati 1098 and R1. I can get the nigh fun out of this bike without needing to hit the hyperspace button. Whatsoever bike that brings a grin at route legal speeds likewise equally being plenty fast when needed gets a infinite in my garage.

when it came to the ideal bicycle there was always 2 options i) almost souless engineering perfection in the Japanese options ...simply soulless withal 2) pure emotion and styling as seen in the Ducati'southward and benellis of this world untill they clunk to a halt or require a mortgage to service! well here is the perfect mix ..... all the performance and reliability of the japs with the emotion of Europe ...all done in a very british manner ...2d simply in looks to the ducati desmo and the but modest affair i can say is not the kost comfortable of seats ... but if you want a comfy seat ...buy an mpv!!!!

It is very good! And until I crashed mine (car pulled our in front of me) it was a great source of happiness. Ride - nimble, quick turning, and house - lean it in, keep the speed up and it but stick to the route. Equipment - everything you need (calculator is v.skillful) Carbon $.25 are extra though Quality - information technology up there Reliability - time volition tell merely all good so far. Value - It's competitively priced, but yous seem to be able to get cracking pre-reg deals on Jap 600'south that I haven't seen on this (yet). Maxim that, I did get a lot thrown in by bargaining and going for a gold one (which I had sprayed bluish - all in the toll) and if your talking pounds for smiles then its a complete barign. Engine - Amazing, lots of power.... everywhere.

This is a cracking bike and the fact that triumph have managed to produce a seriously compettive cycle in this class is amazing...I would never accept bought a triumph until i saw this....the engine is awesome and the handling great...it is nevertheless the most uncomfortable sports bike ive ever ridden. I never fifty-fifty considered comfort levels when purchasing previous bikes (GSXR, R6, RSV etc) every bit I never though information technology really mattered on a sports bike, but this thing is brutally uncomfortable...the suspension isnt the the all-time setup as standard simply can be sorted...still rather own this then another souless Jap 600 though :-)

Handles, steers, brakes, turns in, accelerates also every bit any bike should on road or track. Well finished, smooth, flexible engine that sounds proficient with glitch free fuelling. The street Triple may address long distance condolement bug rather better, but I use mine for work residue and play and it flatters me in looks and ability. A seriously good motorcyce that I'm proud to ain and Triumph should be proud of making. I look frontwards to seeing more of them in British supersports events very soon!

Having had a TL1000s for 7 years, and so went onto Ducati 749 last july as had lusted subsequently one since 916 launch I tried the demo 675 as the sevice was due for my Ducati. This ride turned out to be the best decision I've made. Initially with waiting for a Ducati and then long I thought the 675 would not sway me. Entering the offset corner I thought there was something wrong with the wheel equally it just dropped into the corner sooooooo hands, it turns so quickly. The 749 was actually stable aka on rails on corners merely changes of management and initially getting it over into the corners was a lot slower. The frazzle note of the triple was actually wicked as demo wheel had Triumph's own end can sounds mint & much cheaper than arrow full system. The torque is noticeable from 3000rpm upwards and as the revs ascent so does the howl from the tin can. Braking, steering and overall performance is very pleasing. as well had a lot more than prissy comments virtually bike from bikers and non bikers akin. Fifty-fifty wife likes pillion perch. Strengths: Performance handling sound looks and style smooth fuel injection tank range comfort.  Weaknesses: Gearbox chip notchy.

20 May 2006 past bmims

My last bike was a 955i and I tired of waiting for the updated version, so thought I'd trade downward..(!) Equally it turns out, the 675 feels faster (and I'm even so running it in), easier to ride and builds confidence - Go into a corner fast and it always feels like y'all could accept gone in faster. Not as comfy every bit the "touring" 955i but the actress grin factor makes up for information technology. No issues and then far but it's early on days. Strengths: Handling, looks, engine, sound and flying the flag. Weaknesses: Ride was to difficult for me on standard settings (11st), soft setting has improved things, for British roads at least. Allen fundamental just nether the seat(!). Seat height not practiced for the vertically challenged.. which I'm not, thankfully.

I've had this slender beauty for a calendar month now and at present have the benefit of being able to compare information technology to R6'due south and CBR RR6'southward that I have endemic. I've concluded that there is no comparison in that the Triumph just mashes the competition when hurling itself out of bends. Thank God for mid range. The light clutch and super shine fueling as well hateful flying starts from the lights are a piece of cake. Overall it's a great wheel for everyday use. Purchase one. Strengths: Lightning fast steering, truly cracking brakes and lots of mid range torque. It's British! Weaknesses: The speedo readout is in the wrong identify and accessing the side stand up is slightly abrasive (I'grand being picky every bit you can run across).

5 out of v The Trumpet Strikes Back!

22 March 2006 by jmrharwood

I picked up the 675 three weeks ago - and wow, what a bike! It is the complete parcel. Looks, sound, performance, handling and grip. I had heard one or two critisms, and so would like to address those.... The gearbox is occasionally gummy when block changing gear (at remainder). Yet, I have already washed three journeys over ii hundred miles and have been perfectly comfortable. My terminal bike was the 955i, and this is more comfy. I am over six foot, and find the bikes meridian and sitting position conform me well. It besides has fantastic lights (the 955i had very poor yellowy lights). The acceleration is fantastic, only with the torquey grunt from the triple pots, I can stick the bike into 6th gear at xxx miles an hour and non demand to have to change gear. She adores corners. It wasn't long before the vesture on the tyre extended right down to the border, and she exudes confidence. The 675 is a fantastic bike - sexy, glorious in red, and confident in her capabilities. My 3rd Triumph! Strengths: Looks, handling, noise, condolement. Weaknesses: Gearbox, condensation in headlights.
